Seahawks plan workout with Joe Mixon

Published 4 October 2026

The Seattle Seahawks are arranging a workout with free-agent running back Joe Mixon, according to reports published Sunday, October 4. The planned audition would give the 30-year-old a chance to return to the NFL after missing the 2025 season with a foot injury. No outcome has been reported, and there is no confirmation that Seattle will sign him. The reports, citing Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer, said Mixon would meet with the Seahawks. One account said he was expected to travel to Seattle Sunday for a workout Monday, October 5. The exact timing was not consistent across accounts, which described the visit as taking place Sunday or Monday. The workout remains a planned event, rather than a completed one. Mixon has not played since the Houston Texans’ playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on January 18, 2025. He missed the entire 2025 season because of the foot injury and was released by Houston in March 2026 after requesting his release. The reports do not establish the injury’s current status or whether he is cleared to play.
