Dave the Diver and Subnautica 2 crossover set for 2027

Published 9 October 2026

Mintrocket announced that Dave the Diver’s final planned major DLC will be a free crossover with Subnautica 2, scheduled for early 2027. The announcement was made at the Triple-i Showcase. The expansion will bring Dave and Bancho to Proteus, an ocean moon in Subnautica 2, for an underwater adventure featuring alien creatures. The crossover will place Subnautica 2’s setting and marine life inside Dave the Diver. Promotional descriptions say Dave and Bancho travel through a portal to explore Proteus, encounter unfamiliar creatures and make new discoveries. The announced content also includes an encounter with Subnautica 2’s Leviathan. Mintrocket has not announced an exact release date or provided a full account of the expansion’s gameplay. The DLC will be free and is available to wishlist on Steam, according to the announcement coverage. Mintrocket studio director Jaeho Hwang said the two games’ different approaches to underwater exploration gave the teams an opportunity to bring a new experience to Dave the Diver. Subnautica 2 creative director Anthony Gallegos described the expansion as a celebration of both series.
