Cowboys fall to Buccaneers after three second-half turnovers

The Dallas Cowboys lost 24-16 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, falling to 2-3 after three second-half turnovers helped Tampa Bay secure its first win of the season. Dallas led 10-7 at halftime, but Tampa Bay scored 17 unanswered points in the third quarter to take control. The Buccaneers capitalized on a pair of Dallas turnovers, including a fumble on a kickoff return, and held on despite a late Cowboys scoring drive. Tampa Bay improved to 1-4. Running back Bucky Irving powered the Buccaneers’ offense, rushing for 165 yards and scoring twice. His 72-yard run helped set up Tampa Bay’s first touchdown of the second half. The Buccaneers finished with 241 rushing yards and 419 total yards, while Dallas recorded 50 rushing yards, according to game accounts. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 316 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted twice. Dallas receiver George Pickens caught nine passes for 130 yards and a touchdown. The Cowboys cut the deficit to eight in the fourth quarter, but a late Prescott pass intended for tight end Jake Ferguson was intercepted, ending Dallas’s final scoring opportunity.
