Published 8 October 2026

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Dallas Cowboys 24-16 on October 8, earning their first win of the season after a 0-4 start. Rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels started in place of injured Baker Mayfield, and linebacker Alex Anzalone intercepted Dak Prescott late to help secure the result, according to the game account provided. Tampa Bay led 24-10 in the fourth quarter after building its advantage with a touchdown and field goal in the third. Dallas mounted a late push, driving 99 yards for a touchdown pass from Prescott to George Pickens, but did not convert the two-point attempt. The Cowboys got the ball back after Tampa Bay went three-and-out, only for Anzalone to intercept a pass intended for Jake Ferguson. Tampa Bay then gained a first down to run out the game. Daniels, making his second start, threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Bucky Irving to tie the game at 7 in the second quarter. Dallas led 10-7 at halftime after a field goal.
