Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb Has Quad Bruise, Status Unconfirmed

Published 9 October 2026

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a quad bruise during the team’s 24-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday, October 8. NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport said Friday that the injury was not considered serious, but Lamb’s availability for Dallas’s next game had not been confirmed as of October 9. Lamb left the game early with the injury and was seen limping toward the locker room, according to reports. He finished with two catches for nine yards. Dallas did not provide an update on his status after the game, and the early assessment reported by Rapoport was not an official medical clearance or confirmation that Lamb would return for the next matchup. Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer told reporters after the game that Lamb had been hit in the same quad during Dallas’s Week 4 win. Schottenheimer said the injury became “pretty painful” on Thursday night. The reports did not specify when Lamb would return to practice or provide a team injury designation. Dallas is scheduled to face the Green Bay Packers the following Sunday night.
