COROS Introduces DURA 2 Solar Cycling Computer
COROS has introduced the DURA 2 Solar, a cycling computer with a 3.5-inch touchscreen and manufacturer-rated battery life of up to 120 hours before solar charging. The company says direct sunlight can add as much as two hours of riding time for each hour of exposure. COROS rates the device for up to 70 hours when operating in dual-frequency mode, which uses multiple satellite signals for positioning. Those figures are manufacturer claims, not results from a controlled, long-term battery test. Early reviewers reported favorable battery observations, but their tests covered limited periods and different conditions. The DURA 2 Solar combines a carbon-fiber backplate with an anodized aluminum bezel and weighs about 99 to 100 grams, according to reported specifications and reviews. Its memory-in-pixel touchscreen measures 3.5 inches. The design also includes physical buttons, plus pressure-sensitive controls built into the solar panel, allowing riders to navigate without relying on the touchscreen. The computer adds updated maps and turn-by-turn navigation, training and recovery metrics through COROS’s EvoLab system, and controls for music and some action cameras. Routes can be...
