Apple Watch Ultra 4 Adds Battery Life and Health Features
Apple’s Apple Watch Ultra 4 extends the battery life and adds more frequent heart-rate readings and new training insights, but reviews describe the changes as incremental for owners of last year’s Ultra 3. The rugged smartwatch retains its familiar design and a US starting price of $799, while two advertised audio features were not available during testing. Reviewers reported up to 50 hours of battery life with regular use, compared with the Ultra 3’s 42-hour rating. One reviewer said the watch averaged about two days between charges. Apple also lists longer GPS workout options, including up to 45 hours in a maximum extended mode, though that figure applies to a different mode from standard GPS tracking. The Ultra 4 introduces a health-sensing system that samples heart rate more frequently, supporting Readiness scores and new Vitals views. Readiness combines measures including sleep, activity and physiological data to offer an indication of recovery and preparedness. Reviewers said the scores and heart-rate readings were broadly comparable with other trackers in their testing.
