Leaked Fitbit Edge details point to seven-day battery life
Leaked materials describe a new Google fitness tracker called the Fitbit Edge, with a small AMOLED display and battery life of up to seven days. Google has not announced the device, so its specifications, price and release timing remain unconfirmed. The reported 1.34-inch screen would give the Edge a display in a compact fitness band. The leaked information also lists Bluetooth connectivity, GPS, fitness sensors and support for phone notifications. Some reports describe limited access to Google services, including Maps and YouTube Music, but those details have not been verified by Google. A leak attributed to Dealabs puts the price at £159 in the United Kingdom and €179 in Europe. Those prices are not official. Other estimates place a possible U.S. price between $149 and $199, but Google has not provided a price for any market. The battery claim is also leak-based. One account says the tracker could last up to seven days with its always-on display turned off, or up to two days with the feature enabled. The same report says a five-minute charge could provide up to 24 hours of use. No independent testing or final specifications are available.
