Published 10 October 2026

Bengaluru FC opened the 2026-27 Indian Super League season with a 3-2 victory over SC Delhi on October 10, with Menno Koch scoring the winning goal in the 89th minute at Sree Kanteerava Stadium. The match report said the defender headed in after earlier putting the ball into his own net, completing a late turnaround for the hosts. Borja Martínez gave Bengaluru the lead in the 22nd minute, finishing with his left foot on his ISL debut. SC Delhi drew level through Rodriguinho, who scored after receiving a through ball from Lalrinliana Hnamte. Juan Peña then put the visitors ahead in the 32nd minute when his effort was diverted into the net by Koch. Bengaluru continued to press after the break. Martínez equalized in the 75th minute, finishing a pass from Mihailo Perovic. The match report said Bengaluru attempted 22 shots, while SC Delhi goalkeeper Nora Fernandes made several saves, including a stop to deny Ryan Williams from close range in the 85th minute. Koch settled the match four minutes later. The result began a new ISL campaign following a curtailed previous season.
