Apple announces new Apple TV 4K for $299

Published 13 October 2026

Apple announced a redesigned fourth-generation Apple TV 4K on October 13, adding an A19 chip, hands-free Siri controls and a remote that can play a sound to help users find it. The streaming device costs $299 in the United States, with preorders open now and release set for November 13, 2026. The new model has three built-in far-field microphones, allowing users to speak to Siri without using the remote or a paired HomePod. Its updated Siri Remote includes a speaker and Find My support, so users can prompt it to emit a sound when misplaced. Apple also says the remote supports Precision Finding. The device’s external design remains similar to the previous model, while its internal hardware has been updated. Apple says the A19 chip supports Siri AI features, and the box includes an AV1 decoder intended to improve streaming quality while using less bandwidth. Those performance and streaming benefits are company claims; the supplied reports do not include independent testing. Apple says the new Apple TV 4K can pair with as many as four HomePod or HomePod mini speakers for surround sound. The company says the speakers can adjust to their position in a room.
