Apple unveils smart-home lineup with LG and Schneider

Published 13 October 2026

Apple announced the Apple Home Collection, a lineup of smart-home accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, bringing cameras, a video doorbell, a smart lock, thermostats and sensors into its Apple Home ecosystem. Apple says the products will begin arriving in December, with some accessories not scheduled to appear until early 2027. The collection includes four LG cameras: an indoor camera, an outdoor camera, a floodlight camera and a video doorbell. The doorbell uses two cameras to show visitors and packages. Apple says the indoor camera can tilt away from the room when people are home, while the floodlight model activates its lights when motion is detected. LG also makes the collection’s smart deadbolt. Apple says it can unlock automatically when a person approaches with a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch using Ultra Wideband technology. The lock also offers PIN entry and a concealed backup key. The video doorbell and lock are designed to work together through Apple Home. LG and Schneider Electric each contribute a thermostat, and the collection also includes temperature and humidity sensors.
