Apple announces fourth-generation Apple TV 4K for $299
Apple announced a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K on October 13, adding an A19 chip, Siri AI, hands-free voice control and new home-theater features to its streaming device. The model is priced at $299 in the United States and ₹39,900 in India. Preorders opened October 13, with retail availability listed for November 19 in the U.S. and November 13 in India. The product’s main changes are inside the familiar black set-top box, Apple says. Its A19 chip replaces the previous model’s A15 Bionic processor. Apple says the new chip delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous generation. Those figures are Apple’s claims; the supplied reports do not describe independent testing of the device. The updated Siri uses Apple Intelligence to answer conversational questions about shows and movies, including follow-up queries. Three built-in far-field microphones allow users to speak to Siri without holding the remote, even while content is playing. Apple also added Find My support and Precision Finding to the Siri Remote, which can play a sound to help locate it.
