Amazon MGM Studios Releases Verity Clips Ahead of October 2

Amazon MGM Studios has released four clips and a featurette promoting Verity, a psychological thriller scheduled to open exclusively in theaters on October 2, 2026. The film adapts Colleen Hoover’s novel and stars Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett. The promotional material offers a preview of the story without establishing whether the announced release has occurred. Directed by Michael Showalter, the film follows Lowen Ashleigh, played by Johnson, a struggling writer hired to complete a popular series by Verity Crawford, a successful author played by Hathaway. Verity is unable to finish the books after an accident leaves her incapacitated. Lowen moves into the Crawford home to review the author’s work and discovers a disturbing manuscript containing revelations about Verity and her family. As she investigates, the story raises questions about what is true and what is invented. Hartnett plays Jeremy Crawford, Verity’s husband. The cast also includes Ismael Cruz Cordova and Brady Wagner. Nick Antosca wrote the screenplay, based on Hoover’s novel.
