Prime Video Sets Criminal Teaser and January 2027 Rollout

Prime Video has released a teaser for Criminal, its eight-episode adaptation of Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips’s graphic novels, and announced a two-part rollout in January 2027. All four episodes of the first installment, Coward, are scheduled to debut January 13, followed by all four episodes of Lawless on January 27. The series centers on friends Leo Patterson, played by Charlie Hunnam, and Ricky Lawless, played by Gus Halper. According to the series synopsis, Leo is trying to escape the criminal world in which he was raised, while Ricky wants to follow his father’s path. Their family history returns to the fore when Ricky’s older brother, Tracy, played by Luke Evans, comes home from the Army. The story also follows Greta, played by Adria Arjona, a car thief from Leo’s past, and Mallory, played by Emilia Clarke, Ricky’s girlfriend. The synopsis describes Mallory as concerned about what Ricky may do to get by.
