Tom Cruise’s Digger Set for October 2 Theatrical Opening

Tom Cruise’s upcoming film Digger has prompted fresh discussion of the actor’s range, from his decades of action stardom to performances in dramas and thrillers. The Alejandro G. Iñárritu film is scheduled to open in theaters October 2, 2026, with Cruise playing an oil baron in a role that departs from his familiar screen image. Cruise said he had wanted to work with Iñárritu since seeing the director’s debut, Amores Perros, more than 25 years ago. He described Digger as an original and challenging collaboration.
