Alpine unveils A310 Vision concept, not production model
Alpine has unveiled the A310 Vision, a heritage-inspired concept car designed around its Alpine Performance Platform, but says the study is not an announcement of a production model. Presented at the Paris Motor Show, the concept revisits the original A310, first shown in 1971. Its low, wide coupe shape and angular styling draw on the earlier model, including cues associated with the later V6 version. Alpine describes the project as an independent creative exploration of the brand’s heritage. The A310 Vision measures 4.55 metres long, 2.03 metres wide at the rear and 1.18 metres tall, according to figures published for the concept. Exterior features include pop-down headlights, a central blade-shaped line along the bonnet, pronounced wheel arches and a split rear wing. A semi-transparent cabin and physical interior controls are also part of the design study. Alpine says the concept uses its Alpine Performance Platform, or APP, an architecture intended to support future electric sports cars, including the next-generation A110. The concept’s powertrain specifications have not been disclosed.
