Agents Search Ilhan Omar’s Home in Federal Probe

Published 14 October 2026

Federal agents searched Rep. Ilhan Omar’s home in Washington, D.C., on Monday and seized her phone as part of an ongoing federal investigation, according to a person briefed on the probe. The Justice Department said Homeland Security Investigations carried out a judicially authorized search warrant in the Washington area. Investigators have not publicly detailed the evidence or the full scope of the inquiry. The person, who spoke anonymously because they were not authorized to discuss the investigation, told the Associated Press that authorities had issued more than a dozen grand-jury subpoenas, including to some of Omar’s relatives. The subpoenas were issued to a grand jury collecting evidence in Minnesota, the person said. The investigation is examining possible fraud in Omar’s immigration paperwork, according to that account; the allegation has not been established in the supplied information. Washington, D.C., U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said in a television interview Tuesday that her office was examining issues concerning Omar’s financial disclosures and that several investigations related to the congresswoman were underway.
