Two sets of remains found at Lancaster property

Published 1 October 2026

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said investigators found the remains of two people at a remote Lancaster property while following up on information from a missing-persons investigation. The department is treating the discovery as a homicide and continued searching nearby areas on Wednesday, Sept. 30; authorities have not identified the people or clarified whether the remains are connected to a reported disappearance. Investigators responded Tuesday, Sept. 29, to the area near East Avenue F and 50th Street East, the department said. The discovery came as detectives pursued information related to a missing-persons case. Officials have released few details about that investigation, including the identity of the person or people being sought. The department confirmed that the remains of two people were found but has not disclosed their condition or how long they may have been at the property. A separate account said investigators were working to determine whether the remains were connected to a reported disappearance, leaving that relationship unresolved.
