Zelensky Seeks Expanded Starlink Access After Deadly Strikes
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky urged the United States to expand Ukraine’s access to Starlink satellite services, arguing that the technology would help Ukrainian forces target Russian ballistic missile launchers. His appeal came after Russian strikes across Ukraine, which he said killed 78 people and injured 215 over two days. Speaking to reporters in Pryluky, Zelensky criticized Washington’s approach to supporting Ukraine and its efforts to negotiate an end to the war. He called on President Donald Trump to increase sanctions pressure on Russia and said expanded access to Starlink could help Ukraine defend its airspace and bring Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiations. The appeal followed a Russian bomb attack on two passenger buses in Kramatorsk on Thursday. Donetsk regional governor Vadym Filashkin said at least 30 people were killed and 18 injured, and accused Russian forces of deliberately targeting the buses. One account put the death toll at at least 35, but the reports do not establish a final figure. Moscow has repeatedly denied intentionally attacking civilian populations, according to one report.
