VisionQuest Premieres With MCU Timeline Near Brand New Day

Published 13 October 2026

Marvel’s VisionQuest premiered October 13, 2026, with its first two episodes, as showrunner Terry Matalas described the series as set in the MCU’s present, around the time of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Asked whether that placement meant around 2027, Matalas agreed, according to an interview published on premiere day. In another interview, he said years had passed since WandaVision and that VisionQuest was about current with Brand New Day; that account estimated the setting as around 2028. The interviews place the series near the same Marvel project, but do not establish an exact in-universe calendar year. The differing estimates follow earlier comments by Paul Bettany, who had described the story as taking place about a year after WandaVision. That remark appeared to suggest 2024, but Matalas said the gap felt longer than a year. The series’ placement in relation to Brand New Day is the clearest timing description provided by the creator. Disney’s published schedule lists eight episodes. Episodes 1 and 2 were set to arrive together on October 13, followed by episodes 3 and 4 on October 20 and episodes 5 and 6 on October 27.
