Endgame Encore Narrows Box Office Gap With Avatar

Published 4 October 2026

Marvel’s 2026 theatrical reissue of Avengers: Endgame, branded Encore, has sharply narrowed the film’s gap with Avatar in the worldwide box-office rankings, but available reports give conflicting lifetime totals and do not establish a settled record-holder. The reissue began its theatrical run on September 25. One box-office accounting cited in reports puts its worldwide take at about $91.5 million, including $32.9 million domestically and nearly $59.7 million internationally. On that basis, Endgame’s lifetime total was estimated at about $2.89 billion, below Avatar’s reported $2.924 billion. Other reports put Endgame at $2.92 billion or $2.9255 billion, with one of those estimates placing it narrowly ahead of Avatar at $2.9237 billion. The figures appear to reflect different reporting moments or estimates, so the available information does not confirm that Endgame has definitively reclaimed the unadjusted worldwide record. The reissue’s domestic performance weakened considerably after its opening weekend. It debuted with $26 million in North America, while a Saturday-morning projection put its second-weekend domestic gross at $4.2 million, an estimated 87% decline.
