Shreyas Iyer rises to fourth in T20I batting rankings

Published 14 October 2026

Shreyas Iyer climbed three places to fourth in the latest International Cricket Council men’s T20I batting rankings, published October 14, with 798 rating points. The India captain reached the highest position of his career, while Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan remained third with 883 points after a strong series against Sri Lanka. Iyer’s rise followed his performances in India’s home T20I series against the West Indies. He scored a century in the opening match in Lucknow and made 40 runs from 18 balls in the second game in Ranchi. He then scored one run in the third match in Indore, according to match reports. Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma occupied the top two positions in the rankings table reported by most accounts of the October 14 update. Kishan was listed first with 904 points and Abhishek second with 891. One report gave different totals for those two batters, listing Kishan on 891 and Abhishek on 883; the other four reports gave the same higher figures. Farhan ranked third with 883 points. He scored 238 runs across three T20Is against Sri Lanka, and the ranking reports said he had reached a career-best rating.
