Rahm commits to Abu Dhabi event after rejecting LIV 2.0

Published 13 October 2026

Jon Rahm has committed to play the Abu Dhabi Aldar Championship in November, marking his first appearance at the event and a return to the DP World Tour schedule after rejecting proposed terms for LIV Golf’s restructuring. The DP World Tour said Rahm will compete at Yas Links from November 5 to 8, 2026. The tournament will be his first in Abu Dhabi. He said he was looking forward to playing there and would head to Dubai the following week. The DP World Tour Championship is scheduled for November 12 to 15 at Jumeirah Golf Estates. Rahm has indicated he will play in the season-ending playoffs, and has won the Dubai event three times. His Abu Dhabi commitment puts him on the schedule for consecutive playoff events. Rahm’s decision on LIV 2.0 became public on October 7, when his attorney, John Beck, told a U.S. bankruptcy court that the proposed terms were unacceptable. The statement came as LIV Golf pursued a restructuring during its Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings. The terms Rahm rejected and the status of any remaining contractual obligations have not been detailed in the reports.
