Peacock Sets Ted Animated Series Premiere for December 17

Peacock has announced that Ted: The Animated Series is scheduled to premiere December 17 with eight episodes, bringing Seth MacFarlane and members of the films’ cast back to the story of Ted and John. Additional episodes are planned for sometime in 2027, but no release date or episode count has been announced for them. The announcement came with a teaser released September 30. In the clip, animated John, voiced by Mark Wahlberg, attempts a backflip, lands on his face and is struck by a falling anvil. MacFarlane returns as the voice of Ted, the talking bear at the center of the comedy franchise. The animated series continues the story of the two films rather than the live-action television prequel. Its premise is set 12 years after Ted 2: Ted and John are neighbors, each with a family and a dead-end job. The official series overview describes the longtime friends as helping one another navigate marriage, parenting and adult life, while also encouraging each other’s bad ideas. Amanda Seyfried returns as the voice of Sam, John’s wife, and Jessica Barth as Tami-Lynn, Ted’s wife. Kyle Mooney joins the voice cast as Apollo, and Liz Richman voices Ruth.
