Pacific Health Sciences recalls baby gripe water lot

Published 9 October 2026

Pacific Health Sciences has recalled one lot of Babies Magic Tea Baby Sleep Gripe Water after testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration found three undeclared alcohols in the infant supplement: ethanol, methanol and isopropanol. The recall covers 4-ounce bottles marked lot 25122BW, with a best-before date of December 2028. The amber bottles are packaged in blue cardboard boxes with an oral syringe. The lot number appears on the box and a side panel of the bottle. The product was distributed to Secrets of Tea for sale through online retailers, including its website and Amazon. The FDA said testing found approximately 8.3% ethanol, 0.35% methanol and 0.48% isopropanol. None was declared on the label. The agency said potential effects depend on the amount consumed and the user’s age and body weight. According to the FDA, exposure to amounts recommended on the label could cause drowsiness, poor coordination, behavioral changes, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. Higher exposure could increase the risk of respiratory depression and other serious health consequences. The agency also said ethanol exposure in infants has been linked to long-term developmental effects.
