Netflix Reveals First Poster for Gerwig’s Narnia Film

Published 13 October 2026

Netflix released the first poster for Greta Gerwig’s The Magician’s Nephew on October 12 and said the film’s first trailer is scheduled to arrive October 13. The adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s Narnia book is planned for a worldwide theatrical release in 2027, followed by streaming on Netflix. The poster, shared by Netflix, offers the first official promotional image for Gerwig’s film. The trailer is scheduled for 2 p.m. Eastern time on October 13, according to the timing announced with the promotion. It will be the first moving-image preview of the adaptation. Netflix has scheduled IMAX previews for February 10, 2027, with the film opening in theaters worldwide, including IMAX, on February 12. The movie is then set to begin streaming on Netflix on April 2. These are announced release plans, not completed releases. Gerwig is writing and directing the film. Netflix describes it as the first film adaptation of The Magician’s Nephew, which was published in 1955 as the sixth book in the Narnia series but is the first in the story’s chronology. The novel tells the story of Narnia’s beginnings.
