Meta Unveils Muse Charm, Targets December Shipment

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Muse Charm, a small handheld device designed to provide direct access to the company’s Muse AI assistant, at Meta Connect on September 23. Meta said it aims to ship the device in December, but has not announced a price and says components are still being finalized. The keychain-sized gadget has a screen displaying a customizable Muse avatar, along with voice interaction and a fingerprint sensor. Users can activate it by touching the sensor and speaking, without unlocking a phone or opening an app. Zuckerberg described it as a way to reach Muse without wearing Meta’s smart glasses. The device is intended to make the assistant available as a dedicated piece of hardware. Meta presents Muse as a personal AI agent that can respond to users and carry out tasks. The Charm gives people another way to interact with it, including those who do not use the company’s glasses. The unveiling came during Meta’s annual Connect event, where the company also discussed broader efforts to bring Muse across its products and services.
