Jordan Pickford Pleads Guilty to Careless Driving
England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has pleaded guilty to driving without due care or attention after an incident in Knutsford, Cheshire, and has requested a court hearing to present mitigation. A hearing is scheduled for December 7 at Chester Magistrates’ Court; no penalty has yet been reported. The incident occurred on April 14. In a witness statement cited in court reporting, Cheshire Police officer PC Cecil Ricardo said he saw Pickford’s blue Lamborghini Urus enter Toft Road from Princess Street without giving way. Ricardo said two vehicles had to brake sharply to avoid a collision. Ricardo said he activated his police vehicle’s lights and siren and followed the Lamborghini. His statement said his speedometer reached 50 mph in a 30-mph zone while Pickford’s vehicle was still pulling away. The officer said Pickford later appeared to notice the police vehicle and stopped. These details come from Ricardo’s account; the reports do not provide additional witness accounts or other evidence about the incident. Pickford entered his guilty plea in writing through the Single Justice Procedure, which allows certain motoring cases to be handled initially without a full public hearing.
