Jagex announces new RuneScape MMO and animated series
Jagex announced at RuneFest on October 3 that it is developing a fourth RuneScape massively multiplayer online game and is also working on an animated adaptation with Charlie White, known online as MoistCr1TiKaL. Both projects are at an early stage, and no release date has been announced for either. The new MMO is described as a fourth game in the RuneScape franchise. Jagex has not disclosed its official title, gameplay details or how it will relate to the existing RuneScape games. One report said the project began as a proposed expansion for RuneScape Dragonwilds before early prototypes led the team to develop it as a standalone game. Jagex has not provided a release window. The animated series is intended to bring the world and stories of Gielinor to a new format. Reports described it as a collaboration with White and said Lyrical Media’s production team is involved. Jagex has not announced a platform or release window. The announcements came alongside plans for the existing RuneScape game. Jagex says RuneScape Reignited will launch on December 2, 2026, with full access available to players without a membership through December 12.
