Ireland forecast: Rain Monday, cooler and showery midweek
Met Éireann is forecasting a mild but unsettled start to the week across Ireland, with rain and drizzle on Monday followed by a cooler Wednesday bringing scattered showers, mainly in the north. The outlook also calls for a clearance and brighter, mostly dry weather on Tuesday after overnight rain moves south. Monday is expected to be overcast and misty in places, with patchy rain or drizzle across the country. The national forecaster says rainfall amounts should generally be small, though more persistent rain is forecast to reach the north and northwest later in the day. Some sunny spells may develop, most likely across the midlands and east. Highs are expected to range from 15 to 19 degrees Celsius, with mild, humid conditions. Rain is forecast to continue moving south early Tuesday before clearing from the northwest. Sunshine and mostly dry conditions are expected to follow for the afternoon and evening, although one or two showers may affect the northwest. Met Éireann puts Tuesday’s highs at 13 to 16 degrees, with a moderate northwesterly breeze. Wednesday is forecast to be cooler, with temperatures reaching 11 to 15 degrees.
