The film "Hanuman Ansh," a low-budget drama based on the life of the 20th-century Indian spiritual teacher Neem Karoli Baba, has emerged as a surprise box office hit in India, defying initial expectations with a remarkable surge in ticket sales driven by strong word of mouth. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the movie has earned over 54 crore rupees net in India against a reported production budget of just 2 crore rupees, making it one of the most profitable films of 2026. The film's theatrical journey began quietly, with a limited release in approximately 250 theaters. According to box office reports, it earned only 10 lakh rupees on its opening day and collected just 1.48 crore rupees during its first two weeks. However, its fortunes changed dramatically in the third week as audience appreciation grew. By day 17, the film collected 2.20 crore rupees, and its momentum continued to build, reaching a single-day peak of 12.75 crore rupees on day 24. The film's India net collection now stands at 54.13 crore rupees, and its screen count has expanded to around 1,200 theaters. "Hanuman Ansh" has also garnered praise from prominent figures in the Indian film industry.
