Capcom Details Boost Bracer Mechanic for Monster Hunter Wilds Expansion

Published 3 September 2026

Capcom has begun detailing the new Boost Bracer mechanic for its upcoming expansion, Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, releasing daily videos that showcase how the tool will alter combat for each weapon type. The first two videos, released on September 2, 2026, focused on the Great Sword and the Bow, demonstrating a new system of charged attacks and enhanced states that aims to add more explosive and flexible options to the hunting formula. The Boost Bracer is a new piece of equipment available to hunters in Master Rank quests. Its core function revolves around a Boost Driver, a new attack unique to each weapon that builds up a gauge. Once the gauge is full, players can activate a temporary Boost state, which enhances their hunter's capabilities. This system is designed to layer new tactics onto existing movesets, allowing for more powerful and flashy variations of signature attacks. For the Great Sword, the Boost Driver appears as a dashing horizontal slash that can chain into an overhead slam.
