Google unveils Fitbit Edge, a $179.99 fitness tracker
Google announced the Fitbit Edge on October 12, positioning the new fitness tracker between its screenless Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch. The Edge adds a display and health and workout features while retaining a band-style design. It is available for preorder, with retail sales scheduled to begin October 27, 2026. The tracker costs $179.99 in the United States. A Stephen Curry edition is priced at $219.99 or about $220. Google also announced a three-month Google Health Premium subscription with purchase; the company says several advanced features, including its Health Coach, require the service. The Edge has a hybrid OLED display for workout statistics and other information, built-in GPS, an ECG app and a physical side button. Google says the tracker is its first repairable fitness tracker, with a replaceable battery. The case is water-resistant to 50 meters. Google says the battery lasts up to seven days per charge and that five minutes of charging provides a full day of use. It also claims the built-in GPS is up to 40% more accurate than earlier Fitbit models. Those battery and accuracy figures are company estimates, rather than results of independent testing.
