Google Opens Gemini 4 Argon to Developers and Subscribers

Published 13 October 2026

Google announced a global rollout of Gemini 4 Argon on October 13, opening its latest AI model to developers and paid subscribers through several of its products. The company said developers can use Argon through paid Gemini API services, while Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers can access it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search. Antigravity access is limited to Ultra subscribers. The announcement expands access beyond cybersecurity partners who received an earlier version through Google’s Fairwind Program. Google described Argon as a model for complex, multistep work in areas including software development, finance, law, cybersecurity and science. The company said the model can process up to one million tokens of input and output through the Gemini API. Google set introductory API prices at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Those rates are scheduled to double after November 30, 2026. Cached input tokens are discounted, the company said. Google also reported that Argon ranks first on the Vals Index, which evaluates performance on professional tasks. The benchmark ranking and other capability claims are based on company-reported results.
