Delta Goodrem to miss Strictly after rib injury

Published 13 October 2026

Delta Goodrem will miss this weekend’s Strictly Come Dancing after doctors advised her to rest following a rib injury, the show said. Goodrem and her professional partner, Kai Widdrington, have been granted a bye into the following week under the competition’s rules. A return then is hoped for but has not been confirmed. Goodrem said the injury meant she was unable to dance this week and that she would focus on resting and recovering. She described herself as gutted to miss the show, adding that she had been enjoying the experience and would cheer on the other contestants from the sidelines. The singer sustained the injury during rehearsals last week, according to reports. She performed a salsa with Widdrington on Saturday, October 10, before the show announced her absence on Monday, October 12. Their salsa received a score of 33, and the pair topped the judges’ leaderboard for the second consecutive week. The bye allows Goodrem and Widdrington to advance to next week’s competition without performing this weekend. The show said it hoped they would be able to dance again then. Goodrem’s recovery and participation in that round remain uncertain.
