Crystal Palace rally to beat Forest 3-1 on Glasner return

Published 11 October 2026

Crystal Palace beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Selhurst Park on Sunday, overturning an early deficit to give manager Pierre Sage his first home Premier League victory and spoil Oliver Glasner’s return as Forest manager. Dan Ndoye put Forest ahead in the third minute. Palace responded through Daichi Kamada, who equalised in the 41st minute, and Jefferson Lerma, who scored in first-half stoppage time. Yeremy Pino added the third shortly before the hour, finishing a rebound after Jørgen Strand Larsen’s shot was saved. Forest made the stronger start and had opportunities to extend their lead. Palace goalkeeper Walter Benítez denied several efforts, including attempts by Ndoye and Liam Delap. Delap had another chance late in the match, but Benítez saved again. He was playing in place of the injured Dean Henderson. Glasner said after the defeat that he had no rational explanation for the result. He ruled out fatigue and a lack of effort, and said he blamed himself, even while describing it as Forest’s best performance of the season. He also said his players had created numerous chances and that he could not explain their failure to convert them.
