Cardinals Prepare to Trade Marvin Harrison Jr.

Published 10 October 2026

The Arizona Cardinals are preparing to trade wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., who will be inactive for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, but no completed deal or destination has been confirmed. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Arizona had preliminarily agreed to a trade and that Houston was among the teams involved. A Texans source declined to confirm or deny the team’s interest. Other reports have described Houston as a likely destination, but the Cardinals and Texans have not announced an agreement. The possible compensation is also unsettled. Reports say Arizona has sought a second-round draft pick, with some accounts describing an additional selection. Aaron Wilson reported that a potential Houston package would include a 2028 second-round pick and a later-round selection, while Houston prefers that timing over a 2027 second-round pick. Those are reported negotiating positions, not confirmed terms. A person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press that Harrison would be inactive against Detroit, adding that the move had not been announced at the time.
