Brisbane 2032 confirms emblems after early YouTube appearance

Published 3 October 2026

Brisbane 2032 organisers confirmed the Olympic and Paralympic emblems after they appeared early in a preview on the Games’ official YouTube channel, ahead of a planned Monday unveiling. The preview was later removed, but screenshots and images circulated online. Organisers have described the release as accidental; how it became visible has not been established. The designs feature cockatoos: a pink cockatoo for the Olympic emblem and a sulphur-crested cockatoo for the Paralympic emblem. The preview image showed both, while its accompanying description outlined the ideas behind the designs. Brisbane 2032 organisers subsequently posted the emblems on Instagram, presenting them as the official reveal. The early appearance followed a week of staged disclosures around Queensland, where parts of the designs had been shown in regional centres. The full emblems had been expected to be unveiled on Monday, three days after the preview appeared on Friday. The planned presentation was to include the story behind the designs and an animated vision, according to Queensland Olympics Minister Tim Mander. Mander said people searching online for the emblem had found the brief release.
