India Wins Three Compound Archery Golds at Asian Games

Published 1 October 2026

India won three compound archery team gold medals at the Asian Games on September 30, defeating China in the women’s and men’s finals and beating South Korea in a mixed-team shoot-off. The results came ahead of a busy October 2 programme, when Indian athletes are scheduled to contest finals in boxing and women’s hockey, as well as archery medal events. The women’s compound team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Chikitha Taniparthi and Prithika Pradeep beat China 238-234. India’s mixed team, Chikitha Taniparthi and Sahil Jadhav, prevailed over South Korea in a shoot-off after the teams finished regulation tied at 157. Sahil Jadhav, Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru and Kushal Dalal won the men’s team final 238-237 against China. The September 30 report said the women’s victory equalled world, Asian and Games records. It also reported that the three team golds included an Olympic quota place for Los Angeles 2028. That qualification detail was reported alongside the results, though the supplied accounts do not include an official qualification record.
