BlizzCon 2026 Unveils StarCraft Shooter, Diablo 5, WoW Forever

Blizzard Entertainment opened its BlizzCon 2026 convention on Saturday, September 12, with a series of major announcements for its flagship franchises, including a new StarCraft shooter, a fifth mainline Diablo game, and a new evolution of World of Warcraft Classic. The event, held at the Anaheim Convention Center, marked the return of the developer's fan convention after a multi-year absence. The opening ceremony featured reveals for StarCraft, Diablo, World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and other titles. The most anticipated announcement was for a new game in the StarCraft universe, simply titled StarCraft. Described as a co-op shooter, the game is set for a 2030 launch, marking the first major release for the franchise in a decade. A brief teaser showed the rise and fall of an elite soldier. Blizzard also revealed Diablo 5, with a teaser showing the return of the Lord of Terror. The game is planned for a 2029 launch and will explore a world where Diablo has taken over. In the meantime, Diablo 4 will receive an Amazon class pack next year.
