Barcelona beat Getafe 3-0 as Gordon scores first goal

Published 10 October 2026

Barcelona defeated Getafe 3-0 at Camp Nou on Saturday, October 10, as Anthony Gordon scored his first goal for the club and the league leaders extended their strong start to the season. Gordon opened the scoring early, with reports placing the goal within the first two minutes. The England forward drove toward goal before his low shot took a deflection and beat Getafe goalkeeper David Soria. It was Gordon’s first competitive goal for Barcelona, after he had contributed four assists since joining the club from Newcastle United in May, according to one account. Gabriel Jesus doubled Barcelona’s lead in the 29th minute after Getafe defender Zaid Romero gave the ball away inside his own penalty area. Jesus, making his first start for Barcelona, collected possession and fired into the net. He had replaced the injured Raphinha, who was unavailable after sustaining a muscle injury while on international duty with Brazil. Barcelona completed the scoring after the break. Lamine Yamal sent a cross into the area, and Jules Kounde finished from close range in the 73rd minute. Getafe were unable to find a goal as Barcelona secured the home win.
