At Least 11 Killed in Zaporizhzhia Residential Strikes

Published 10 October 2026

Russian strikes hit residential areas of Zaporizhzhia on October 10, killing at least 11 people, including three children, regional officials said. At least 16 people were reported wounded in an earlier update, while a later report put the number at 14. Rescue workers were still searching damaged buildings, and the final toll was not established in the available updates. Ukrainian police said five guided aerial bombs struck residential neighbourhoods, including two apartment buildings. The State Emergency Service said an entrance section of an apartment building was destroyed and other buildings and private homes were damaged. Responders extinguished a fire and cleared rubble as they searched for people who might be trapped. The reported death toll increased during the day. An earlier update from regional governor Ivan Fedorov said eight people, including three children, had been killed, 16 wounded and 12 unaccounted for. Mykhailo Semikin, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, later reported 11 civilian deaths, also including three children.
