West Indies level T20I series with 24-run win over India

Published 14 October 2026

West Indies beat India by 24 runs in the fourth T20I in Hyderabad on October 14, leveling the five-match series at 2-2 and setting up a final-match decider. West Indies scored 247 for three in 20 overs, then bowled India out for 223 in 19.3 overs while defending the target of 248. Captain Shai Hope led the West Indies innings with an unbeaten 102 from 50 balls, including nine sixes and four fours. Sherfane Rutherford added an unbeaten 49 from 26 deliveries, while Shimron Hetmyer scored 33 from 12 balls as the visitors built a total India could not reach. India began the chase briskly. Sanju Samson made 56 from 23 balls, and Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed 43 and 41 respectively. But West Indies took wickets often enough to prevent India from sustaining its scoring rate. Keemo Paul was the decisive bowler, taking five wickets for 41 runs. His strikes disrupted India’s chase and helped West Indies close out the match. Gudakesh Motie took two wickets for the visitors. The win brought West Indies level after India had led the series 2-1. The fifth and final T20I is scheduled for October 17 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, where the series winner will be decided.
