Verstappen says Red Bull is less stressful after Horner exit

Published 8 October 2026

Max Verstappen says Red Bull has become less stressful since Christian Horner left the team, describing a more cordial atmosphere as he focuses on rebuilding with the organization and winning rather than considering a move to Ferrari. In remarks reported from a Press Association interview, the four-time world champion said reduced tension between teams had made the environment more comfortable. He said he preferred people getting along, adding that Formula 1 already involves considerable pressure and that easing some of it was beneficial. The comments reflect Verstappen’s assessment of the atmosphere, not an independent measure of conditions at Red Bull. Verstappen also addressed speculation about Horner returning to Formula 1. He said Horner had demonstrated his ability and might find an opportunity if he wanted to return, but Verstappen did not know where that might be. He added that Horner’s future was not his concern and said he did not know how much of the surrounding rumors was accurate. Asked about the possibility of driving for Ferrari, Verstappen said he respected the brand but was focused on winning.
