Red Bull extends Hadjar contract through 2027 season

Red Bull has confirmed that Isack Hadjar will remain with the team for the 2026 Formula 1 season and has extended his contract through 2027, completing the squad's driver lineup alongside Max Verstappen. The announcement, made on September 23, 2026, ends speculation about the team's future pairing after Verstappen himself extended with the squad last month. Team Principal Laurent Mekies said extending Hadjar's contract was an easy decision given the Frenchman's performances since joining the senior team at the start of the year. Mekies praised Hadjar's immersion in the team, noting his time at the factory with engineers and his composure from his first weekend in Melbourne. He added that the period since Hadjar's injury had been difficult but that the extension reflected the team's belief in the driver. Hadjar, who has been part of Red Bull's Junior Team since 2022, progressed through Formula 3 and Formula 2, where he narrowly lost the 2024 title to Gabriel Bortoleto. He was promoted from reserve driver to a Racing Bulls seat for the following season, scoring his maiden podium at Zandvoort before replacing Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull.
