Ukraine reports at least 15 killed in Russian strikes
Russian strikes across Ukraine on October 7 killed at least 15 people, including nine in the northern city of Pryluky, Ukrainian authorities said, as rescue crews searched the rubble of a destroyed apartment building. The attacks also killed two people in Kyiv, according to the capital’s mayor, while reports described damage in multiple regions. Casualty figures were preliminary in Pryluky as emergency work continued. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said the strike on a five-story residential building in Pryluky killed nine people, including three children, and injured 40, among them seven children. Rescuers had pulled 12 people alive from the rubble, including one child, and authorities said people might still be trapped. Search and dismantling operations were continuing. President Volodymyr Zelensky said the overnight barrage struck Kyiv and 12 other regions. Officials reported deaths in several locations, including Dnipro, Kremenchuk and Oleksandriia, while residential buildings and other facilities were damaged. The nationwide total of at least 15 deaths was reported by Ukrainian authorities; the available accounts do not establish a final toll across all affected areas.
