TSMC reports strong revenue growth amid AI demand
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. reported strong revenue growth in September and the third quarter of 2026, as demand for chips used in artificial intelligence and advanced computing continued to support its business. The company is scheduled to release its full third-quarter results on October 15, a report expected to provide further detail on performance and management’s outlook. One account put third-quarter revenue at approximately NT$1.49 trillion, or $46.7 billion, up 50% from a year earlier and above an analyst consensus forecast of NT$1.46 trillion. The same account said September revenue was NT$511.86 billion, 55% higher year over year but 0.6% below August. A separate report gave September revenue as $16.06 billion, up 54.6% from a year earlier, and described August revenue as NT$514.81 billion, approximately $16.3 billion. The accounts present the monthly figures differently and do not provide a reconciliation. The exact September growth rate and its comparison with August therefore remain unclear in the supplied reports. The reported figures nevertheless point to substantial annual growth.
