Sony Group and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. are finalizing a joint venture to mass-produce next-generation image sensors in Japan, with an investment of approximately 1 trillion yen, or about $6.3 billion. The companies are targeting commercial production as early as 2029 at a facility in Kumamoto Prefecture.
