Titans Stick With Cam Ward After 0-5 Start

Published 12 October 2026

The Tennessee Titans will keep Cam Ward as their starting quarterback after a 26-3 loss to the Houston Texans left the team 0-5, coach Robert Saleh said Sunday. Saleh said the team would continue working with Ward and give him every opportunity to improve this season. Ward, the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, threw for 170 yards and one interception against Houston. Tennessee managed 187 total yards and scored three points, its lowest total of the season. Ward was sacked four times, all in the final 11 minutes, according to the game report. Through five games, Ward had thrown for 896 yards, with three touchdowns and three interceptions. The Titans’ winless start has intensified scrutiny of the second-year quarterback, but the team’s stated position after Sunday’s loss was that he would remain the starter. Saleh said the coaching staff would keep communicating with Ward and work to identify plays that suit the offense. Ward said the team needed to correct mistakes and that he would continue working with offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and quarterbacks coach Shea Tierney.
