The Watcher Season 2 Set for Fall Production in New York

Published 3 October 2026

Netflix has announced that production on the second season of The Watcher is set to begin in New York in fall 2026, with Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale, Margo Martindale and Isabel Gravitt returning. The announcement moves the series toward production nearly four years after its first season premiered in October 2022. Netflix has not announced a premiere date. The returning actors starred as members of the Brannock family in the first season. The series followed the family after they moved into a home and began receiving ominous letters from someone identifying themselves as The Watcher. The season ended without resolving the mystery of who sent the letters, leaving the direction of the next installment unclear. Netflix has not released plot details for season two, including whether it will continue the Brannocks’ story or take an anthology approach. One account says the new season will follow the family, but that has not been confirmed in the announcement. Ian Brennan, who co-created the series with Ryan Murphy and serves as showrunner, said in an interview that he was writing the second season. He did not provide further details about the story.
